SAN JOSÉ, COSTA RICA – The DIES IDC LA Alumni Network has officially announced that the 7th DIES IDC LA Alumni Conference will take place from March 19–21, 2026. Hosted by the Tecnológico de Costa Rica (TEC), the event serves as a premier gathering for higher education professionals to reconnect and address the evolving landscape of academia in Latin America.

Bridging Science and Policy

This year’s theme, "Science Diplomacy and Challenges in Latin American Higher Education," underscores the importance of international collaboration and governance. The program is designed to be highly interactive, featuring:

  • Strategic Action Plans (SAPs): A showcase of projects from the new 2025/26 DIES-IDC LA cohort.

  • IDC Alumni Roundtable: A signature closing format facilitating peer-to-peer dialogue on shared regional challenges.

  • Networking Opportunities: Starting with a welcome reception to foster ties across the regional network.


Call for Abstracts: Share Your Expertise

The conference organizers are currently inviting alumni to submit abstracts for presentations. Submissions should focus on research, case studies, or practice-based experiences in areas such as:

  • Innovation in teaching and research.

  • International knowledge exchange.

  • Leadership during challenging times.

Submission Criteria: Abstracts must be 200–250 words, written in English, and submitted by the early February deadline.
