DIES - INTERNATIONAL DEANS' COURSE

LATIN AMERICA 2016/17

 

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) and the Universities of Saarland (Germany) and Alicante (Spain) are jointly organizing the DIES-International Deans’ Course for Latin America.

Twenty-five deans from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, República Dominicana, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru and Uruguay are attending the Module 1 at Saarland University  from 10 - 14 October. Module 2 will go carry on at University of Alicante the following week.

Representatives from Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Universidad San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca, Catholic University of the North of Chile, Fundación Universitaria Konrad Lorenz, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Universidad Antonio Nariño, Universidad Católica de Manizales, University of San Buenaventura, National University, Central University "Marta Abreu" of Las Villas, University of Havana, Universidad Dominicana O&M, Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral,, Catholic Pontifical University of Ecuador PUCE, Escuela Superior de Economia y Negocios, Universidad Católica de El Salvador, Universidad Tecnológica de El Salvador, Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, Universidad Católica de Honduras, Universidad Veracruzana, Instituto Politecnico Nacional, CITEDI, Universidad Americana (UAM), Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru and Technological University of Uruguay - UTEC are attending this 5-day course to develop and improve their competence in Quality Management Accreditation,  Strategic Planning and Finacial Management and Fundraising.

The IDCL 2016/17 staff hope that while they are here in both European universities their learning process is both pleasurable for them personally and beneficial for their home institutions.

Application and Selection Procedure

The following supporting documents should be included:

  • Application form,
  • Letter of motivation (1-2 pages max.).
  • Organizational chart of the university
  • Letter of recommendation from university top management
  • Proof of English proficiency (not mandatory – only if available)

The Selection Committee composed of high profile Higher Education Management experts and staff of DAAD and HRK meets by the end of June 2016.

All applicants will be informed about the result of the selection process in July 2016.
